I’m really diggin’ Billy Reid and how he combines generational American influences. There’s a little bit of every American era in his collections from Newsboys to the “Spirit of St. Louis.” One thing I’m not too sure of yet is the resurgence of turtlenecks. I always felt like someone was choking me, but there’s no doubting their warmth. Also, layering is back in a HUGE way (I’ve always been a fan/practitioner). I’m obsessed with the use of broken in sweatshirts in place of sweaters as a secondary layer. The preppy/jock/American style is totally mine this F/W.
I can’t tell if those are suspenders hanging off the side of his leg. I’m all about the casual rolling of the pants for Spring. I love the varying dark shades of blue. Makes the loafers stick out even more.
I love those boots. The two tone and wide tassel. I’ve seen a lot of girls around Williamsburg with boots like these, but not many men. The two tone is completely different. Obsessed. And the double-breasted navy trench with brass buttons is absolutely incredible. The trick here though is the fit. It’s perfect. Such simple attitude.
My goal this year is to incorporate suspenders more into my outfits. Such a timeless accessory that can really add some dimension to your outfit.
